Why JP Roll-Off

A roll-off company that actually shows up.

After more than 25 years hauling for homeowners, GCs, roofers, and property managers across Prince George's, Montgomery, and northern DC, we've learned what people actually want from a dumpster company: a clear price, a driver who answers the phone, and a container that arrives when they said it would. That's the whole business model.

  • Same-hour written quotes No "we'll call you back." You get the price in writing, including taxes and tonnage, before you hang up.
  • Drivers who text ETAs You'll know when the truck is 30 minutes out so you can move cars or open a gate.
  • Boards under every container We protect driveways with 2×10 boards on every drop. No exceptions.
  • Pickup on request Done early? Need more days? Call us to schedule. We swap or pull when you're ready — your 14-day rental and pickup are already included.

What You Can Haul

The right dumpster handles almost anything.

Most residential and construction debris is welcome in any of our roll-offs. A few categories — heavy debris and hazardous materials — need to be handled differently. Here's the quick guide; if your project doesn't fit cleanly into one of these buckets, call us and we'll figure it out together.

Household junk

Furniture, mattresses, appliances (no freon), boxes, clothes, toys, books, kitchenware. The classic "clean out the garage" haul.

Construction debris

Drywall, lumber, framing scraps, flooring, tile, cabinetry, doors, windows, insulation. Standard remodel and new-build waste.

Roofing materials

Asphalt shingles, underlayment, flashing, roofing nails, plywood decking. Heavy — we'll spec the right size and tonnage allowance so you can plan around the $105-per-additional-ton excess-weight rate.

Yard waste & trees

Branches, brush, sod, mulch, leaves, shrubs, root balls. We can take whole trees — call us first to size it correctly.

Concrete, dirt & brick

Heavy materials are quoted separately because they fill weight before they fill volume. Same per-material pricing, different price line.

What we can't take

No paint (unless dry and lidless), no oils, no batteries, no asbestos, no propane tanks, no medical waste, no refrigerators with freon. Mattresses and tires are accepted with a $75-each surcharge. Ask if unsure.

How It Works

Four steps. About five minutes on the phone.

There's no app to download, no portal to log into, no 12-page quote form. The whole rental — from "I need a dumpster" to "they hauled it away" — fits in four steps and one phone number.

1. Tell us your project

Call (301) 879-7040 or fill out the quote form. Share your address, what you're tearing out or building, and when you want delivery. We confirm your quote in writing the same hour.

2. We deliver to your door

The driver texts a 30-minute ETA, places the container on 2×10 protective boards, and positions it where you asked — driveway, side yard, alleyway. Photo confirmation included.

3. You fill on your schedule

Take your time — every quote includes a 14-day rental window. Need more days? Call us; extensions are inexpensive and quoted in advance. Stay within your per-size tonnage allowance and you're set — excess weight runs $105 per additional ton.

4. Call us. We haul.

Pickup is on request — call to schedule and we're back to pull it, usually the next business day. Your quote covers delivery, pickup, and your weight allowance; the only extra is $105 per additional ton if you go over. Done early? We'll come sooner. Need a swap? Just say so.

FAQ

Common questions about dumpster rentals.

If you don't see your question here, call us. We'd rather spend two minutes on the phone than have you book the wrong size.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in the DMV?
Every job is quoted based on the size you need, the type of material, and your ZIP code. Your quote includes delivery, pickup, a per-size weight allowance, and a 14-day rental — with no hidden fuel or environmental fees. Go over your allowance and excess weight is $105 per additional ton; heavy materials like concrete, dirt, and brick are quoted separately. Call or request a free quote and we'll give you a firm price.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
Every quote includes a 14-day rental window at no extra charge. Done early? Pickup is on request — just call us and we'll come grab it. Need more time? Day extensions are inexpensive and quoted up front so there's no surprise on the invoice. For long construction jobs, we offer multi-week rental packages too.
Do I need a permit?
If the dumpster sits on your private property — driveway, lawn, side yard — you almost never need a permit. If it has to sit on a public street or right-of-way, your jurisdiction (Prince George's County, Montgomery County, city of Bowie, etc.) will usually require one. We can walk you through who to call. Permit fees, when required, are passed through at cost on your invoice.
Can the dumpster damage my driveway?
We place 2×10 protective boards under every container, every drop — no exceptions. That spreads the load and prevents scarring on asphalt or concrete. For sealed or stamped concrete, mention it when you book and we'll add extra boards. In more than 25 years we've had a handful of issues and we make every one right.
What can't I put in a dumpster?
Hazardous materials are the universal "no" list: wet paint, oils, fuels, batteries, asbestos, propane tanks, refrigerators with freon (must be evacuated first), and medical waste. Mattresses and tires are accepted but carry a $75-each surcharge. Heavy materials like concrete, dirt, and brick are allowed but quoted separately because they fill weight before volume. When in doubt, ask before you toss it in — we'd rather sort it on the phone than at the transfer station.
Do you offer commercial accounts?
Yes — commercial accounts welcome; ask about billing for qualified accounts, and we run repeat-customer pricing for active GCs, roofers, and property managers. Tell us your typical volume and we'll build a price sheet you can budget against. We've been the standing roll-off vendor for some of the DMV's largest remodelers for years.
How fast can you deliver?
If you call before noon and you're in our core service area (Beltsville, Greenbelt, College Park, Laurel, Hyattsville, Bowie, and the surrounding ZIPs), next-day delivery is the standard — and same-day may be available depending on location and our schedule. Need a specific time? Tell us when you book — we'll schedule a drop window.
The Fine Print

Rental terms, in plain English.

No surprises on the invoice. Here's exactly how our rentals work.

  • 14-day rental included Every quote covers a 14-day rental window. Additional days are $5 each.
  • Priced by weight, not flat-rate Construction and household debris isn't flat-rate — your quote includes a per-size weight allowance, and excess weight is $105 per additional ton.
  • Pickup is on request Containers aren't picked up automatically. Call us when you're ready and we'll schedule the haul.
  • Aggregates: 10, 15 & 20-yard only Concrete, dirt, brick, and asphalt go in a 10, 15, or 20-yard container. For DOT transport limits, aggregate loads must sit at least one foot below the top edge — overfilled containers can't be legally hauled and won't be picked up until the level is reduced.
  • $250 trip charge If the container is blocked, inaccessible, or overfilled and we can't complete the pickup, a $250 trip charge applies until it can be hauled.
  • Mattresses & tires Mattresses and tires are accepted with a $75-each surcharge. Hazardous materials aren't accepted.
